Important key accounting dates for October 2011

1 October 2011 - payment of corporation tax for small & medium sized companies with accounting periods ended 31 December 2010
 
1 October 2011 - National minimum wage rates increase to the following:
·          the adult rate will increase by 15p to £6.08 an hour
·         the rate for 18-20 year olds will increase by 6p to £4.98 an hour
·         the rate for 16-17 year olds will increase by 4p to £3.68 an hour
·         the rate for apprentices will increase by 10p to £2.60 an hour
 
 
7 October 2011 - Due date for August 2011 VAT return and electronic payment
 
19 October 2011 - Payment of PAYE/CIS liabilities for month ended 5 October 2011 & file monthly CIS return
 

31 October 2011 - Companies House should have received accounts of private companies with a year end of 31 January 2011
